This article describes my personal experience with Hoymiles inverters and the sellers and representatives involved. The matter has now been referred to my legal team. I have supporting records relating to the purchases, reported faults, damaged appliances, communications, and replacement commitments.
I first came across Hoymiles inverter promotions on Facebook. The advertisements looked convincing, the brand appeared reliable, and the products were presented as a dependable long-term investment.
Based on that impression, I purchased three Hoymiles hybrid inverters from ES Energy Multan / Maan Traders: two 6kW units and one 15kW unit.
Unfortunately, that trust came at a very high cost.
Two Out of Three Inverters Developed Serious Faults
Two of the three inverters repeatedly tripped throughout the day—sometimes as many as five times daily.
Once they switched off, there was no predictable recovery time. They would restart after 30 minutes, one hour, or sometimes as long as four hours. There was no consistent pattern, no advance warning, and no reliable explanation.
This caused constant disruption, uncertainty, and serious concern for the electrical appliances connected to the system.
Then the damage began.
According to my experience, the faulty 6kW inverter was connected when the following appliances were damaged:
- My water pump, which required complete rewinding
- My oven
- My LED television
The faulty 15kW inverter was connected when further appliances were damaged:
- My air-conditioning unit
- Three ceiling fans
These were not minor inconveniences. They resulted in significant financial loss, repeated repair expenses, and ongoing safety concerns inside my home.
The Blame Game Began
When I contacted the relevant Hoymiles dealer and importer representatives in Pakistan, the focus appeared to shift away from the inverters.
I was initially told that my house wiring might have a short circuit. Acting on that advice, I had new wiring installed. The problem continued.
I was then told that my solar panels might be B-grade. I had the panels tested, and they were found to be functioning properly. The problem continued.
Next, I was told that the battery might be faulty. I replaced the battery. The problem still continued.
I followed every recommendation and spent additional money attempting to eliminate every other possible cause. Despite all of this, the repeated tripping remained.
The only explanation that appeared to be consistently avoided was that the inverter itself could be defective.
The Third Inverter Provided the Clearest Evidence
After approximately two months of disruption, I removed the problematic 6kW inverter and installed the third inverter I had purchased.
The difference was immediate.
The replacement unit operated normally. There was no repeated tripping, no random shutdown period, and no further appliance damage of the kind I had experienced previously.
The wiring remained the same. The solar panels remained the same. The overall installation environment remained the same.
Only the inverter changed.
In my view, this strongly indicated that the original unit—not the wiring, panels, or battery—had been the source of the problem.
A Replacement Was Promised, but Not Delivered
After I shared my experience publicly on LinkedIn, senior Hoymiles representatives contacted me.
I was informed that the defective inverter would be replaced and that the product carried a 10-year replacement warranty.
Based on this assurance, I delivered the faulty inverter to the designated office for replacement.
Since handing over the unit, however, I have faced prolonged silence.
My calls have reportedly gone unanswered, and the replacement that was promised has still not been delivered. Meanwhile, the 15kW inverter displaying similar faults remains at my home and continues to represent a financial and safety concern.
A warranty has little value if a customer cannot obtain a timely response or the replacement they were promised.
I Was Asked to Remove My LinkedIn Post
The most concerning part of this experience was not only the product failure or the delayed replacement.
I was also asked to remove my LinkedIn post and provide positive feedback about the company.
I cannot ethically provide positive feedback while my complaint remains unresolved, my replacement has not been delivered, and I have not been compensated for the damage I experienced.
A customer should never be pressured to remove a genuine complaint or publish praise before the underlying problem has been properly investigated and resolved.
The appropriate response to a serious customer complaint is not silence or reputation management. It is accountability, transparency, technical investigation, and fair compensation.
The Losses I Am Seeking to Recover
Hoymiles and the relevant representatives and sellers involved must address the financial losses and unresolved commitments arising from this matter, including:
- The cost of the damaged water pump and its rewinding
- The cost of the damaged oven
- The cost of the damaged LED television
- The cost of the damaged air-conditioning unit
- The cost of three damaged ceiling fans
- The cost of unnecessary replacement wiring
- The cost of the replacement battery
- The promised replacement inverter
- The unresolved faulty 15kW inverter
- The time, stress, disruption, and financial burden caused over approximately two months
My legal team is now handling the matter.
My Message to Hoymiles and Its Representatives
Ignoring calls will not resolve this complaint.
Requesting the removal of a public post will not resolve it.
Asking for positive feedback before the issue has been settled will not resolve it.
The responsible way forward is straightforward:
Replace the defective units, conduct a transparent technical investigation, compensate the documented losses, honour the warranty commitments, and ensure that other customers are not exposed to similar risks.
I gave the company sufficient time to address this matter privately. I remained patient for approximately two months because I hoped the responsible parties would honour their commitments and resolve the issue professionally.
That has not happened.
A Warning to Consumers
To anyone considering a solar inverter purchase in Pakistan: do not rely solely on social-media promotions, polished advertisements, or warranty claims.
Before making a purchase:
- Research the importer and dealer, not only the international brand
- Ask how warranty replacements are actually processed
- Request warranty terms in writing
- Confirm where faulty units will be inspected
- Ask existing customers about after-sales service
- Keep invoices, serial numbers, installation reports, photographs, videos, and written conversations
- Document every fault and every appliance damaged
- Avoid relying only on verbal promises
Not every company entering the Pakistani market deserves immediate trust.
A product may look impressive in an advertisement, but the real test of a brand begins when something goes wrong. Product quality matters, but customer service, warranty enforcement, transparency, and accountability matter just as much.
I stayed silent because I wanted to give the company an opportunity to do the right thing.
It did not.
I am now sharing my documented experience so other consumers can ask the right questions before making the same decision.
